This Generation! By Pastor Bill Taylor A publication of My Father's House, inc. Volume 8/ Issue 16 Prophecy: I have said in My Word and through My Spirit, take heed how you hear. For the measure that you hear, it will be measured unto you and to him who has more will be given, and to him who has not, even what he has will be taken away. Take heed what you hear, take heed how you hear it. Yet, I see myriads of those who claim to be My people going to “churches” where they do not hear My Word, where they hear heresies and perversions and jokes. And they think they are going to stand before Me and say, “Lord, I went to church” and be innocent, when all along I told them to take heed what they hear. It was their responsibility to make sure they went to the place they would hear the more, so that the more could be given to them, and not to the place that they would hear the less so that even what they had would be taken from them. I tell you; indeed, I take from them what they have, because they choose the less. But I tell you My people here, blessed are your ears for you hear. To those who hear the Word that I have sent out through you, through The Glory of His Grace, through the tapes, through the preachers, through the witnesses that come from this place, I tell you, blessed are those who hear. And to those who hear, the more will be given to them, and the more will come forth in you and to you and in this place abundantly, for you have taken heed to My Word and by My Word I will reward you awesomely, saith the Lord. (Prophecy delivered at “My Father’s House”) I recently received this invitation: “We at the church of V. are having an event called spring break 2003. It will feature a three on three hoop it up tourney with 4 divisions: married guys, married girls, single guys, and single girls. Live bands, inflatable extreme games, free food, giveaways and so much more. Be here by 6:00 pm Thursday to register. We do not see this as a church event but a Kingdom event.” Can you just see Jesus out there on the courts, hooping it up? These are the types of things the false church does thinking this is the way to evangelize the lost. They offer something fleshly to attract unsaved people then try to give them a little bit of gospel with their fleshly fun and maybe get them “saved.” Very early in my Christianity, God spoke to me saying using flesh to evangelize won’t work. When the Spirit of truth, the anointing, is inside of you, you will know the truth. And the truth is you can’t attract people to Spiritual things by using carnal bait. To save them what you must do is convict them of their carnality. When you are participating in carnal things with them how can you convict them? You create a carnal “church” program in order to get carnal people into “church” then you’re going to preach to them about the sins of being carnal when you’re the one who organized and invited them to the carnal event? It won’t work! If you want to convict these people of anything you’ve already lost you’re edge as far as Spirituality is concerned. And you’ll never get them into holiness until you show them what holiness is by being holy. It’s blatant blasphemy to call such a thing as this a “Kingdom” event! Such “events” have nothing to do with God’s Kingdom; it’s all from the world and the flesh. And the “churches” that spend their time putting these carnal events together clearly don’t understand, For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Phil 3:3) True Christians have cut off the flesh. In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, (Col 2:11) Now obviously these people have confidence in the flesh if they think they can evangelize by using fleshly attractions. It’s not the Holy Spirit they’re depending on. And you must consider that the elect are born of the Spirit, they’re born of God and they hear God. They come to church because God has spoken to them, because the Spirit God puts inside them is guiding them to His truth. (1John 2:27) And you must escape from this wicked and perverse generation that serves the flesh and all that is involved in that. And to save yourselves from this wicked and perverse generation it is an absolute necessity for you to understand how wicked and perverse this generation really is! And the reason this is a wicked and perverse generation is because it’s flesh; it’s born from beneath; it’s at enmity with God. It hates God in reality, pretends to love Him in the imagination, but can’t really stand Him in truth; because flesh is always trying to have things its own way and God’s way is always contrary to flesh. For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. (Gal 5:17) And all the frictions in people’s lives occur when somebody or something gets in their way and God gets in the way of the flesh. Those in the flesh want to do it their way and God gets in their way. And in real Christianity you must either crucify that flesh or it will crucify the Christ in you because flesh is at enmity with God. And you can’t bring people to the place where they see they need to crucify the flesh by fellowshipping with them in their flesh, which indicates you haven’t crucified your own flesh. So true Christians must stand up for holiness and show people what holiness is so that the lost can see their need to get out of the flesh and get into holiness for that is the only place where true salvation is found. We must absolutely refuse to utilize the flesh to attract people to the churches as that would be abominable to God. The chaste virgin, the bride of Christ doesn’t sell herself. And carnal churches ought to be ashamed of themselves. They think that they are serving God when they are prostituting in the flesh.
No one can come to Christ except the Father draws them. (John 6:44) And faith comes by hearing God so the only way a person can be saved is to hear God speak to them. And one way to get God to speak to them is to pray and ask God to speak to their hearts. And the churches should not be spending their time making up carnal games and programs to attract flesh but they ought to get on their knees and pray for God to draw the lost to Christ, and to raise up the promised children who are “taught of God.” Nobody comes to Christ unless the Father draws them. When people are drawn by hoop it up games; they are not being drawn to Christ. Flesh begets flesh. “For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.” (Gal 2:18) Jesus came to condemn the sinful flesh not entertain it. (Rom 8:3) To be saved people must be drawn by the Spirit, the Holy Spirit. They must be drawn to see their need to be holy because they are convicted and know they are not holy. And without holiness no one will see God. (Heb 12:14) And only a church that prays for God to do that will have real Christians drawn by God to it. The kind of christians you’ll get out of “hoop it up” games are carnal, “Jerusalem below” proselytes who have not been born again. And these false christians are going to think that it’s ok to be carnal, and they will think they are still saved even in their carnality and they will think they are going to Heaven even though they are worldly and such people are never going to hear God or know God. Their whole “salvation” will be based on doctrines that lying false christians have taught them like “believe in Jesus and you’re saved” even though you have no experience that you’ve died with Him and been raised with Him. (Col 2:12) Even though you don’t walk in the Spirit. (Rom 8:4) Even though you haven’t crucified the flesh. (Gal 5:24) So they can’t really know God, they can’t hear Jesus’ voice, and they reject the living Christ and His Spirit in the now to believe in a historical idea of Christ which cannot save them. Twenty years ago God gave me this verse, “For if I build again those things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor. (Gal 2:18) If I’ve crucified the flesh; I’m not going to build it up again. Jesus came to die on the cross that the body of sin might be crucified, done away with. Now you make yourself a sinner if you build the flesh that He condemned up again. You make yourself a transgressor if you use the flesh to bring people to the “church.” You’ve undermined the whole foundation of how God operates to convict people. When you bring people to the “church” by using the flesh you’ve got nothing to use to bring them into the Spirit because you’ve got nothing to convict them with because you are now guilty of the very thing you’re supposed to tell them they are guilty of. For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh, (Phil 3:3) This silly “preacher” and his silly “hoop it up church” thinks he’s a fellow worker in Christ; but he’s not even in Christ. To be in Christ you must be in Christ’s Spirit. This foolish man presumes upon his christianity that he’s a fellow worker in Christ. He’s not a worker in Christ; I’m a worker in Christ! I work in the Spirit and I have no confidence in the flesh and that’s what makes me the true circumcision because I don’t trust in or utilize the flesh. I trust in Christ and His Spirit to lead me as to how to do the job. I depend upon the supernatural God to do supernatural things; to speak supernaturally to people; to convict them supernaturally of their need to know Him and their need to become holy and righteous. That makes me a co-worker with Christ. These hoop it up people are not co-workers with the Kingdom of God they are co-workers with the flesh. And flesh is of the devil. And such things are going on all over “christendom” today. But they also have erred through wine, and through intoxicating drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through intoxicating drink, they are swallowed up by wine, they are out of the way through intoxicating drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment. For all tables are full of vomit and filth; no place is clean. (Isa 28:7-8) All over, every place we look we see so-called christians who do not even know the simplicity of this scripture, For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh. (Phil 3:3) And whenever you see a church using flesh to entice people in, you know they have confidence in the flesh. And they cannot be considered the circumcision. The flesh hasn’t been cut off, their confidence in the flesh hasn’t been cut off. Spiritual Christianity rises out of the funeral pyre of the flesh. It’s Isaac burned on the altar and God raising up a new man in his place. It’s Adam dying in shame and the second Adam rising in glory. It’s the destruction of the flesh that is at enmity with God and always trying to do things its own way and not depending upon a supernatural God because people in the flesh don’t have faith in a supernatural God. They don’t have faith that the Spirit of God can draw people to Christ’s church. If they had faith that God could draw people to the church, instead of having picnics, and games, and dinners they’d be having prayer meetings. They’d be praying for God to convict the lost peoples that they need to be saved. And then they’d be seeing those people coming in and feeling deeply their need to be saved. It’s a sad thing what’s passing for Christianity today. And it’s a sad thing that most people can’t see the problem. Even most so-called christians think, “Oh that’s a good thing they are doing.” Yes let’s get real excited about basketball; that’s going to be fun. And then after that we’re going to talk about Jesus. Jesus has got nothing to do with this kind of stuff. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1John 2:15) Jesus is holy. Jesus would be telling them they need to repent, put away their games, get into the Word of God and get serious and find out what Christians are supposed to be and start being Christians before they start trying to save other people using things the world loves to “save” them. You aren’t even a Christian yourself yet and you’re trying to save others. That’s what Jesus would be telling them. God has appointed me to attack the false church, to strip it naked and show it for what it is. I have a calling to do that. The false church is an insult to Christ, it’s an insult to His blood that was shed to make people holy not to make them “saved” in carnality and sin but saved from their “carnality and sin.” Real Christianity gets to know Jesus. Anybody that knew Jesus would never consider hoop it ups, fall festivals, Jesus Jubilees, or any things like that; all these things these churches do in the flesh; they would never consider that Jesus would ever do such things. It isn’t hidden somewhere subtly in the scriptures that He wouldn’t do such things. It is a major, up front doctrine of Christ. Jesus answered them and said, “Most assuredly, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate of the loaves and were filled. “Do not labor for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to everlasting life which the Son of Man will give you because God the Father has set His seal on Him.” (John 6:26,27) Now Jesus had fed the 5,000 in the wilderness because they were with Him for three days and hadn’t eaten. He didn’t feed them to attract them to Himself. He fed them so they could get home safe. But after being fed some of them decided they wanted to have a Jesus jubilee and they wanted free food again. But Jesus refused to give it to them. Instead of having a church “potluck” and giving out free food so everybody would come and listen to Him, He told them they’d better start changing their way of thinking and they’d better start thinking about how to get a hold of the bread of everlasting life instead of the temporal bread that they were seeking. Now this passage is very simple, it’s very plain, and it’s very obvious that Jesus would have nothing to do with feeding the carnal lusts of men in order to attract them to God, but just the opposite. By the time He was done with what He was saying here most of His disciples had left Him because He wasn’t going to feed their flesh and put up with their flesh and entertain their flesh and He made them see that very plainly. He gave them some hard sayings that caused them to reexamine their reasons for following Him and most left Him there. “As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who feeds on Me will live because of Me. “This is the bread which came down from heaven-- not as your fathers ate the manna, and are dead. He who eats this bread will live forever.” Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?” From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. (John 6:57-58,60,66) Now that’s the Jesus I love and worship. He’s holy and He’s not a huckster and He doesn’t bribe people with fleshly enticements into following Him. Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions. (Matt 19:21-22) Jesus tells it like it is and then He leaves people to make up their mind whether they want it the way it is. And He doesn’t change the rules just because carnal people don’t seem to be responding to what He is doing. “Jesus the people are leaving and what You are doing isn’t working; we have to get the people to come in. We’ve got to do something Jesus!” “No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him.” (John 6:44) Well you better start praying for God to draw them. That’s what you need to do and stop trying to use these tricks of the flesh to draw them in because that is a defilement of true Christianity to do that! Jesus would not have anything to do with it. He shows us that right here. And if you knew Jesus you would know that. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord. (2Pet 1:2) There won’t be any grace or peace to you if you do not know Him. And as you get to know Him better that is how your grace and your peace will grow stronger and stronger. “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3) That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. (1John 1:3) The purpose of John’s writing is that the elect may enter into fellowship with God and Christ’s church; having true Spiritual fellowship with the Father and the Son and God’s people. In other words, you must know God in the Spirit in order to have fellowship with Him and His people. John describes three states of Spirituality in the church; little children who know their sins are forgiven, and then fathers because they’ve known Him who is from the beginning, and young men because they’ve overcome the wicked one. (1John 2:12) He describes the young men again as “because you are strong and the Word of God abides in you.” (vs 14) Now God has been showing us that in what is calling itself christianity today in the establishment churches they do not know Him and most so-called christians today don’t know Him. Often when we at “My Father’s House” do something that is actually a proof of Christ being in us such so-called churches or “christians” are actually offended with us. For example, the very exclusivity of our church to hold on to Christ’s call and plan for us is just like Jesus when He refused to go to the gentiles and would only do what God had called Him to do by ministering to the lost sheep of the nation of Israel. He would not give the children’s bread to the dogs. (Matt 10:5; 15:26) He knew the resources, particularly the time available to Him, had to be used where God was sending Him and not wasted somewhere outside of God’s plan. We’re doing the same thing and often people who claim to be Christians hate us for it and criticize us for it because we will not join in their programs or become involved with their ministries. But we are required by God to use what God gives us to accomplish the specific works He has assigned to us. And because they don’t know Him, they don’t see that what we are doing is His way. And that what they are doing, they’re doing their way in a sort of universal false christianity where everybody goes along with what everybody else asks and tries to get involved with everything everybody else is doing. This is really “busybody” ecumenism, and totally contrary to the “Headship” of Christ over His church. And it is dissipation! For us to join in with the activities of these worldly churches would be a wasting of God’s resources. If any believing man or woman has widows, let them relieve them, and do not let the church be burdened, that it may relieve those who are really widows. (1Tim 5:16) This verse proves that the church’s resources should not be squandered on unnecessary works, but carefully managed so as to be available for the truly needful things. If these so-called christians really knew Jesus they would know this about Him; that He doesn’t waste His or God’s resources on things He’s not called to. But the false christians don’t know that. If they knew John chapter 6 they would know that Jesus doesn’t have anything to do with using carnal things to attract people to God. He won’t do it and He refuses to do it. Jesus says no one comes to me unless the Father draws him, not flesh draws him. And if they knew Jesus they would know it would be an abomination for Him to use the flesh to draw people to God. But they don’t know Him. So God is proving to us by powerful confirmations that the people and leadership in most of the establishment churches do not know Him! How can they teach you to know a God they don’t know? And it should be obvious to every true Christian that these people don’t know Jesus for the things they are oblivious to are basic characteristics of Christ which are very evident from the scriptures. It doesn’t take an explosive revelation from God to be able to see them. For the contemporary churches to be blind to these things they have to be accursed of God. They are not rightly dividing the Word. They are not students of the Word. They do not love the truth. They have eyes but they do not see. They are too busy trying to get people into their so-called churches by appearing to be what is commonly supposed a church should be, to look at what God says His church is really to be. They’re hiring youth pastors to excite their young people’s flesh to get them into church. If you want to get young people into church you better get a father who knows God because young people need to be fathered! I have written to you, fathers, because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, because you are strong, and the Word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one. (1John 2:14) They don’t need to be pastored by some youngster who’s a blind leader of the blind. In John’s church the children can grow up into young overcomers because they have holy fathers who know God and can teach them to know God. At “My Father’s House” we’ve had more blessings on our children since we brought them into the main service where the children, young people, and adults all worship and learn together than we ever experienced when there were separate meetings for the children. And we’ve found the Holy Spirit is able to work on a child just as much as an adult through the very same Word of God being preached to the “whole” church. It’s God’s Word and it’s supernatural and the children get changed by it just like the adults. And when there are things they don’t understand they can ask their parents about it at home and that causes the parents to get more Spiritually involved in their children’s salvation. One of the best things that ever happened to us here is when we got rid of the “children’s church” and brought the children into the main sanctuary and that’s when they started getting saved. But Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the Kingdom of heaven.” (Matt 19:14) Everything I’ve done for God has been out of waiting on the Lord until He showed me what to do in contrast to thinking up some kind of activity to try to make something happen. That’s a major difference between flesh and Spirit right there. When I wait for God to tell me what to do and He shows me then what He shows me is going to work. Where people are too impatient or don’t have enough faith to ask the Lord what to do and wait on Him to show them, then what they do is not going to work because it’s not being done in the Lord. Apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) There is a whole lot of religion out there that’s just man thinking up what he wants to do and what he thinks might work, dabbling and experimenting, trying to make things happen but without any guidance from God. These “experimental christians” show they don’t know God because if they knew Him they’d be on their knees asking Him what to do. Since they don’t know God and they’re not listening to God whatever they are doing doesn’t have any value. “Without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15:5) Such people can’t lead you to a God they are not coming to themselves. God’s churches are led by fathers. Fathers are characterized by the fact that they have known God and know God. If I know Him I’m a father. I know what He’ll do and what He won’t do, what He’ll bless and what He won’t bless. My Bible is alive. I read it and understand it and I can see the living Jesus in my Bible and I can see what He will and won’t do. That’s why I don’t get led into doing these silly things so many of the other “churches” are doing because I know Jesus isn’t in it. It’s a blasphemy to say He’d be in such things when He teaches in His own Word that He wouldn’t do such things. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8) There needs to be a real revival and a reformation of real Christianity because what we have in most places today is children teaching children. All children know is their sins are forgiven but they often don’t know Him who was from everlasting. If they don’t know Him personally or what He’s really like then they don’t have eternal life. “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent. (John 17:3) To have eternal life you must be in a church where you get to know Him. You need to be in a place where He is revealing Himself so you can get to know Him because only by knowing Him, and increasing in the knowledge of God, can your grace and your peace increase. Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, (2Pet 1:2) And God’s blessings upon you come from knowing what He would do and knowing what He won’t do and being led by the Spirit to do what He would do and not do what He won’t do. Now he who keeps His commandments abides in Him, and He in him. And by this we know that He abides in us, by the Spirit whom He has given us. (1John 3:24) But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him. (1John 2:27) So the true believer has the Spirit and because of the Spirit he knows what’s anointed, what’s of God and what isn’t. For example, if God isn’t anointing you to pray in the church’s sharing service then He wants you to do something else, so look for the other thing. Look for the prophesy, look for the testimony, look for the thing He’s anointing. And when you see something as possibly being from God you can get a picture of it in your mind before you do it and you can sense whether it’s anointed or not. That’s what Jesus is talking about when He says, “I do what the Father shows Me, I speak what the Father tells Me.” (John 5:19) I have an anointing to see whether God is in it or not. I can tell whether it’s just me because if it doesn’t have the anointing, it’s lifeless and dull. I can tell when God’s in it because if the anointing is there it will be vivid and alive. Often in our Bible reading we will cover several pages of scripture and out of all those verses one particular scripture stands out. For example, a scripture we will be looking into later came out of my reading this morning of several pages of the Bible where Jesus said that He must be rejected by this wicked and perverse generation. (Luke 17:25) And the Word that God was especially quickening is must: not that Jesus “will be” rejected but that He must be rejected. But how do I know that verse is the one God is anointing? It is quite a simple verse. We’ve all read it many times, but suddenly that verse is shining with light. Suddenly I’m seeing things in this scripture that I never saw before and God is pouring out illumination and connecting it in new ways with many other verses. There is no doubt God is speaking. The anointing is working. Now every one of you who’s been born again should have the ability to know if the anointing is on the thing you’re doing or sharing or thinking about sharing. And you’re thinking about praying in the prayer meeting but your prayer seems dull or repetitious as though there is nothing new or special or alive in it you better check with the Lord before you do it because if He’s not anointing it, it isn’t what He wants you to do and you need to find out from Him what He does want you to do. So you may start looking at prophesying, or sharing a testimony to find in your heart and mind where God is because if He’s not where you are and not anointing what you think you have, you better find where He is and what He is anointing. Then when you find Him you share with the church what He gives you and it will be of God and it will do the work that God wants done. And the brethren will be blessed and not bored by you and the church service will be enlivened and bring glory to God. That’s part of being led by the Spirit, though being led by the Spirit is not just in church but you can be led in all things; shopping, making business decisions, fixing meals, home cleaning. God will guide you in the way of peace and anoint the thing that is best for you to do if you trust Him with all your heart to lead you. Everything I do I can bring it up before God in my mind and see if God is in it and I can tell if He’s not there or He is there. When it’s time to do it He’s there! You can see this when Jesus receives the news about Lazarus being sick. So, when He heard that he was sick, He stayed two more days in the place where He was. (John 11:6) Jesus doesn’t go immediately when He gets the message Lazarus is sick because He knows God is not in His going yet. But after two days He goes. Then after this He said to the disciples, “Let us go to Judea again.” The disciples said to Him, “Rabbi, lately the Jews sought to stone You, and are You going there again?” Jesus answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, he does not stumble, because he sees the light of this world. But if one walks in the night, he stumbles, because the light is not in him.” (John 11:7-10) And Jesus knows the time has come to go to Lazarus because God’s light is now shining on His journey. Jesus has the sense of when God is moving and of what God is doing because He knows the anointing, and that’s what He means when He says I only do what the Father shows Me. I can see whether God’s in it or not before I do it. And if the anointing is not there and you do it anyway you are walking without light and you will stumble. But when God is anointing, God is light and you can walk in His light and you will not stumble. And this is what it means to be led by the Spirit. It means always testing to see whether God’s in it or not. For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. (Rom 8:14) Prophecy: My people in “My Father’s House I’ve done an awesome work here through the knowledge of God that you have and through the scriptures to prove and to demonstrate that the false church and the leadership of the false church does not know Me. That in the most basic and simple things of the scripture they violate My precepts, My character, My nature, and My truth. That the simplest babe who is elect and is reading the Gospels can see that Jesus does not behave in the way that they behave. I’m doing this so that My elect will come out and no longer be captured by the false scholarship, and prideful, demonic knowledge of these wicked men who claim to represent Me when they only forward their own interests and only forward their own organizations. But I tell you that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever. The Jesus you see in the scriptures is the Jesus that I am. The things that I will do and will not do that you see Me doing and not doing in the scriptures are the things I still do not do or I do accordingly. And as I am so are My people in this world and they will not do what I will not do and they will do what I do. For they are My people and My Spirit is in them and I am their Head and those who are acting contrary to Me and the Christ that you see in My Word are not mine and do not know Me. And knowing Me is eternal life and they do not have eternal life. They live by a different spirit and if they do not repent they will die for it is not the Spirit of eternal life that they live by. But My elect will see Me in the scriptures and they will see Me in the true church and they will see where I am and they will see where I am not for I will show them by shining My light so all may see the foolishness of these blind leaders of the blind and turn to the grace and the wisdom that are in My vessels of honor saith the Lord. (Prophecy delivered at "My Father's House") “But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. (Luke 17:25) Particularly we’re looking at the word must. Jesus must suffer and He must be rejected. And God has a reason why Jesus must be rejected by this generation and Jesus knows it is not that He merely will be, but that He must be rejected. A very important scripture in understanding this is, And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation.” (Acts 2:40) Although most of the time the word generation in the Bible is interpreted and people tend to think of it as a group of people that lived in a specific forty or fifty year period of time, the generation that is spoken of here is the generation of Adam versus the generation of Christ. The generation of Adam is a wicked and perverse generation, it always has been and always will be. The generation of Adam is headed for an absolute destruction again just as in the days of Noah. The generation preceding and up to Noah was completely destroyed and only Noah and his family saved. The generation of Adam again in the last days will be completely destroyed and only Jesus and His people saved. The reason Jesus must be rejected by such a generation is to justify the destruction of that generation. He knew that it had to be done that way in order for the angels in heaven and all the sentient beings in the universe to see the righteousness and the justice of God. Then the LORD said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that (only) you are righteous before Me in this generation. (Gen 7:1) At this time when God is destroying all the living on the earth, He saves only Noah and his family, because except for Noah this generation is evil. “So the LORD’S anger was aroused against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until all the generation that had done evil in the sight of the LORD was gone. (Num 32:13) Here God is speaking of a “forty – sixty” year group of people that are typical of the evil adamic generation. When the spies bring an evil report, the people follow the lie instead of following Joshua and Caleb. They do that because they are of the generation of Adam They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.” Jesus said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham. “You do the deeds of your father.” Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father-- God.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. “You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. (John 8:39,41,42,44) They have an inclination to evil, an inclination away from truth and towards lies. And the generation around us today is of the same evil inclination. And that includes most of the “churches” and most of the “church” people because most of them have not been born from above and God is not their Father and they are not of the regeneration or the recreation. They love lies and hate the truth. So they’re still in the old man and they may be religious but they are not “born again.” And the people in Moses’ day are likewise religious, but they are still adamic in nature. And as in Noah’s day, all the generation that have done evil in the sight of the Lord today will be destroyed. Why would God treat the people of today different than He treated them in Noah’s time? God has called the church to enter into the Holy Land. “Be ye Holy as I am Holy” (1Pet 1:16) And to be perfected in Christ. (Col 1:28) But most of today’s “christians” have believed an evil report. “Our sins are to big for us. Nobody can be perfect. We’re just sinners saved by grace.” And they’ve refused to follow Joshua and Caleb, Jesus, Paul, and even Pastor Bill Taylor - to crucify the flesh, obey God’s Word and enter into the promise of holiness. “And the LORD heard the sound of your words, and was angry, and took an oath, saying, ‘Surely not one of these men of this evil generation shall see that good land of which I swore to give to your fathers. (Deut 1:34,35) The evil generation of that day will not see the good. God swore an oath He would not let them see it and He didn’t and He certainly will not let the evil generation of today including the evil “false christians” see the good either. “And the time we took to come from Kadesh Barnea until we crossed over the Valley of the Zered was thirty-eight years, until all the generation of the men of war was consumed from the midst of the camp, just as the LORD had sworn to them. (Deut 2:14) “They have corrupted themselves; they are not His children, because of their blemish: a perverse and crooked generation. (Deut 32:5) When Peter preaches on the day of Pentecost he’s still calling them a perverse generation. (Acts 2:40) And from the time of Adam with the exception of a few righteous individuals every generation of man has shown itself to be wicked and perverse. Because every generation is a generation of Adam and that’s the problem. “Now therefore, write down this song for yourselves, and teach it to the children of Israel; put it in their mouths, that this song may be a witness for Me against the children of Israel. “Then it shall be, when many evils and troubles have come upon them, that this song will testify against them as a witness; for it will not be forgotten in the mouths of their descendants, for I know the (evil) inclination of their behavior today, even before I have brought them to the land of which I swore to give them. (Deut 31:19,21) And He said: ‘I will hide My face from them, I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation, children in whom is no faith. (Deut 32:20) No faith to enter into the promised land. No faith that Christ can make them Holy and without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation among whom you shine as lights. (Phil 2:15) A perverse generation is one that has no faith. “Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”(Luke 18:8) He’s telling us that He won’t. Even when our Lord returns He’ll find a wicked and perverse generation of children in whom there is no faith. “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matt 24:37) So the people in both Noah’s and Moses’ time are a perverse generation, and that same perverse generation will still be just as evil at the time of the end. May the LORD cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaks proud things, “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, now I will arise,” says the LORD; “I will set him in the safety for which he yearns.” (Ps 12:3,5) You shall keep them, O LORD, you shall preserve them from this generation forever. (Ps 12:7) God promises to protect the righteous remnant from this wicked generation. For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; That the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, That they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments; And may not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set its heart aright, and whose spirit was not faithful to God. (Ps 78:5-8) God is looking for a righteous generation, a generation that will not be like the ancient Jews. But when He speaks of the rebellious generation He is not speaking only of the generation of Moses’ day. I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, according to their own thoughts; (Is 65:2) All day long indicates from Adam to the present; from the beginning to now. But when God says the generation to come we can now understand that is speaking of the new generation; the born again generation of New Covenant believers. It is the children who would be born again who actually may arise and declare God’s truths to their children. Because all these things have been written for the elects’ sake and the elect are the ones who are or will be born again. They are the new creation and the new generation. For forty years I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘It is a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.’ So I swore in My wrath, ‘They shall not enter My rest.’“ (Ps 95:10,11) God is the same yesterday, today, and forever so if He treats these previous people that way and you behave the same as them then He’ll treat you like He treated them. And so “I swore in My wrath they shall not enter My rest” is equivalent to, “Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” (Gal 4:30) And here He is speaking of the Jerusalem that is born of the flesh versus the one that’s born from above. But he who was of the bondwoman was born according to the flesh, and he of the freewoman through promise, which things are symbolic. For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar-- for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children-- but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all (of all the true believers). (Gal 4:23-26) The one that’s born of the flesh is still in the adamic nature. They have a religion that professes to believe in God but they are not new creations and flesh still rules. That means they are still characterized in behavior by such things as, “They go astray in their hearts. They don’t know My ways. They are a stubborn and rebellious generation that doesn’t set its heart aright. Their spirit is not faithful to God.” Such things are characteristic of the present day so-called “christian” generation that resists God, “I have stretched out My hands all day long to a rebellious people, who walk in a way that is not good, according to their own thoughts;” (Is 65:2) Jesus says, “A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign.” (Matt 16:4) So the generation in His day, the generation in Peter’s day, the generation in Isaiah’s day, they are all being described the same way; a wicked, perverse, stubborn, rebellious generation and it’s the same generation today. It hasn’t changed. There is a generation that curses its father, and does not bless its mother. (Prov 30:11) But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, (2Tim 3:1-2) “You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death.” (Luke 21:16) Most people seem to think that as man progresses he becomes better. And that the present generation must therefore be better than anything that has gone before. But this is a lie based in pride. Jesus shows us the last generations will be as evil if not more so than the earlier ones. Unless you get out of the adamic nature and save yourself from this perverse adamic generation by being born again into the true new generation of Christ – then your inclination is to corruption and degeneration. Even the “church,” if she is of flesh and not Spiritual, will certainly degenerate. Ultimately, concerning the true church, her Father is God and her mother is the Jerusalem above. But there is a generation of the “church” that curses its Father and won’t bless its mother. And it’s the old generation “church” that remains in the adamic flesh. There is a generation that is pure in its own eyes, yet is not washed from its filthiness. (Prov 30:12) This is the carnal “church” believing she is cleansed in the blood of Jesus when she has not been reborn. And if there is any verse that describes what the Spirit has been saying to the churches about the lie of imputed righteousness, that is it right here. We’re clean when we’re not clean? Pure in our own eyes? These false christians think that because they confess a superficial belief in Jesus, they are considered clean, but in truth they have not been washed from their filthiness. There is a generation-- oh, how lofty are their eyes! And their eyelids are lifted up. There is a generation whose teeth are like swords, and whose fangs are like knives, to devour the poor from off the earth, and the needy from among men. (Prov 30:13-14) And that again speaks of the persecution we see in, But as he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now. (Gal 4:29) ‘Cut off your hair and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the desolate heights; for the LORD has rejected and forsaken the generation of His wrath.’ (Jer 7:29) The prophets have warned us, Jesus has warned us, and the book of Revelation warns us that the whole world is going to become the generation of His wrath. Wrathful judgment is coming upon the whole world even the way it came in Noah’s day, in Sodom and Gomorrah, and in the two destructions of Jerusalem. In Jeremiah God says, “Don’t even pray for this people,” because God will not bless them in their flesh. That’s the point, if they won’t repent and get out of that fleshly adamic sin nature, God will not deal mercifully with them any longer. He can’t be endlessly gracious to flesh for the flesh is storing up wrath and it must reap the wrath it’s storing up. “But to what shall I liken this generation? It is like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling to their companions, “and saying: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we mourned to you, and you did not lament.’ “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look, a gluttonous man and a winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is justified by her children.” (Matt 11:16-19) Nothing pleases this wicked generation. These people are impossible to deal with. That’s a characteristic of the wicked and perverse generation. But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign will be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. (Matt 12:39) They try to justify their unbelief because of a lack of signs when they’ve had more than enough signs already and all they’re doing is clinging to their unrighteousness and using “a lack of signs” as an excuse. “Show us a sign and we will believe.” They did this right up to the cross, “Come down from the cross and we will believe.” Well God gave them a sign bigger than coming down from the cross, He had Jesus come up from the grave and they still didn’t believe. “But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’” (Luke 16:31) And they had already heard of the widow of Nain’s son and Lazarus being raised, yet they did not believe, because they do not want to believe. And they ask for a sign believing they won’t get a sign so they will have an excuse not to believe. Yet even if they do get the sign they just ask for another sign because no sign is big enough to convince someone to believe who doesn’t want to believe. “An evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign.” (Matt 12:39) “The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, because they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed a greater than Jonah is here. “The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed a greater than Solomon is here. “Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first. So shall it also be with this wicked generation.” (Matt 12:41-42,45) Whatever you try to do to cleanse this adamic generation it won’t last. They may seem to obey for a while but eventually they will turn back to their sin and they’re going to get dirtier than they were before God cleansed them. For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome, the latter end is worse for them than the beginning. For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than having known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered to them. But it has happened to them according to the true proverb: “A dog returns to his own vomit,” and, “a sow, having washed, to her wallowing in the mire.” (2Pet 2:20-22) The path of the just is as a shining light that shines more and more until that perfect day. (Prov 4:18) When a “church” is degenerating it’s an absolute proof that it’s not a just church. The undeniable downhill slide of the Methodists and most all the other denominations is an absolute proof that they are not the justified because the path of the righteous, the justified, is an ever increasing faith and light and the true church is going into greater and greater holiness. And when you see the contemporary “churches” becoming more and more worldly then you know they are not the real church. And that is a proof positive they are not regenerated or born of God. They are still in the adamic generation. And although the adamic flesh can put on a religious façade for a while, it gravitates downward and cannot sustain an upward effort. So eventually you see it turning back to the old worldly sins. Like the dog returning to its vomit, Adam’s generation can’t cease from its sin. Only true Christianity can overcome sin. You must be born again into the Jesus generation. And you must crucify the flesh and put on Christ – daily – lest you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin and depart from the living God. (Gal 5:24; Eph 4:24; Heb 3:12-13) There’s been an incredible degeneration amongst the “churches” in my lifetime which proves beyond any doubt they are in the flesh not the Spirit and they are going to be destroyed. Now when Jesus was coming down from the mountain of transfiguration He had to deal with casting a demon out of an epileptic because His disciples couldn’t do it. Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” (Matt 17:17) And what is astounding about this is He has spoken even of His own disciples when He says, O faithless and perverse generation. And up to this time what have you seen the disciples do that inspires you to any great confidence in them? They’re always arguing about the wrong things, always coming to the wrong conclusions. “Who will be greatest? Shall we call fire down from Heaven? Its because we brought no bread etc.” There is very little that is noble or virtuous about anything that went on with them until Christ’s resurrection and then the day of Pentecost because it is a faithless and perverse generation; the adamic generation that they are a part of. And even the best of that faithless and perverse generation was still faithless and perverse, including Peter, John, and James! The best fruit that a bad tree can produce is still bad. Adam is a bad tree. The disciples had to be reborn from the good tree, the resurrected Christ, before they could bear good fruit. They had to exit the perverse generation of Adam and be born again into the righteous generation of Christ. “Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city, “that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar. “Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation. (Matt 23:34-36) God has been doing this ever since. And the generation He’s talking about is not just that particular generation that crucified Christ. It’s the generation that has kept on persecuting the true church even until today. After warning us about things that will happen in the end times, Jesus says, “Now learn this parable from the fig tree: When its branch has already become tender and puts forth leaves, you know that summer is near. “So you also, when you see all these things, know that it is near-- at the doors! “Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things take place. (Matt 24: 32-34) He is talking about the generation of Adam and all these things that have been prophesied are going to take place before the generation of Adam passes away. He is not talking only about the generation in His day here, because the things He has described are sweeping into our time; some are going on now and some haven’t even been fulfilled yet. “For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” (Mark 8:38) The adulterous and sinful generation is the generation of Adam and it is the same wicked generation we have around us today otherwise these words would apply only to the people He was speaking it to in His day. And if that were so the verse would have no meaning to us today and might as well not have been written. Do all things without complaining and disputing, that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world (Phil 2:14,15) There is a great deception in today’s people that because we’re the latest generation, we’re the most modern, we’re the most knowledgeable, therefore we are the best people that were ever on the earth. And the generation in Jesus’ day felt the same way. “Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you build the tombs of the prophets and adorn the monuments of the righteous, and say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.’” (Matt 23:29-30) Then they crucified God. But the Bible shows us this adamic bunch has been a perverse generation from the beginning and there have only been a few shining lights among them. And the truth is that the multitudes have always been a predominantly wicked people that had to be controlled by the external power of law, because they were not good on the inside. “Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.” (Matt 23:28) And the generation around today is as wicked and perverse as any generation that ever walked the earth. They are made of the same stuff as the previous generations. Salvation begins when you wake up to the truth that you, like these people, are wicked and perverse if you are in the old adamic nature. As it is written: “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.” (Rom 3:10-12) The only way you will not be destroyed is to repent and be regenerated out of the adamic nature and into Christ. There is nothing that Jesus says to His generation that does not apply to today; “If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My Word, they will keep yours also. (John 15:18-20) Because they are the same wicked generation they have the same adamic nature that Cain showed when he murdered Able for this same reason. “But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. (v.21) Because There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. (Rom 3:11) This is the fatal flaw of this generation. “If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin. “He who hates Me hates My Father also. “If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father. “But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without a cause.’ (vs.22-25) “They will put you out of the synagogues; yes, the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that he offers God service. “And these things they will do to you because they have not known the Father nor Me. (John 16:2-3) Notice, to know Him is eternal life (John 17:3) and they don’t know Him. He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. (John 1:10) The adamic generation doesn’t know its own creator because they don’t want to know Him. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, (Rom 1:18-20) It is not ignorance that makes this a wicked and perverse generation. How corrupted, how perverse must they be that they refuse to know and acknowledge their own creator? Something inside them is dreadfully wrong. The ox knows its owner and the donkey its master’s crib; but Israel does not know, my people do not consider. Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, a brood of evildoers, children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the LORD, they have provoked to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward. (Is 1:3-4) He came to His own and His own did not receive Him. (John 1:11) He created the world but the world refuses to know Him. He chose a special people out of the world that were supposed to be His people and even they ultimately rejected Him. This is awesomely, outrageously evil; almost unbelievable wickedness. “And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. (John 3:19) It is because Jesus is good that Jesus has to be rejected by this wicked and perverse generation. If this wicked and perverse generation received Him it would indicate either that they are not really so wicked or that He is actually like them in some way. “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:19) But the total rejection of Christ by the adamic generation is proof positive that Jesus is not like them. He’s made of a different material and He is good and they are wicked and they cannot abide His goodness anymore than Cain could abide Able. Their rejection of Christ verifies His goodness and also verifies their wickedness. Their rejection is a necessary part of His credentials. “For as the lightning that flashes out of one part under heaven shines to the other part under heaven, so also the Son of Man will be in His day. But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation.” (Luke 17:24-25) Now you can look at the destruction of the generation of Noah and you can say that God destroyed them because they were evil but what did the angels think of that destruction? To them it was revealed that, not to themselves, but to us they were ministering the things which now have been reported to you through those who have preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent from heaven-- things which angels desire to look into. (1Pet 1:12) God intends to not only do what is right but that everybody who is in His Kingdom will be able to see that what He did was right and agree that God was right to do it. One of the great truths that the “churches” have missed concerning God is that most of what God is doing has judicial implications, meaning that it’s a public trial in which the guilty will be seen to be guilty and the righteous will be seen to be righteous so that God is shown to be righteous in everything He does; punishing the wicked and rewarding the righteous. That’s a very important aspect of what God is doing, whereas if you think that God just loves people and wants to save them you miss the point of His justice. His justice is absolutely essential to His salvation or Jesus wouldn’t have gone to the cross. When people lose sight of His justice they have lost the knowledge of God because if they don’t see and understand the justice and the judgment and the righteousness in God they don’t know Him at all. If they think He’s just love and they don’t see that His love is a just and a righteous love they don’t know Him. The kind of “love” this wicked generation calls love is usually selfish and demonic and He’s not like that kind of love at all. The devil is like that. The devil’s “love” is an unrighteous and unjust love. So ultimately before God destroys everything completely and wipes out the adamic generation He will demonstrate to man and to the angels that it’s the only righteous thing He could have done under the circumstances. “But first He must suffer many things and be rejected by this generation. (Luke 17:25) When the angels in heaven saw this generation reject God Himself, their Creator, the one who made them, from that point on they could have no problem understanding why God must righteously destroy such an evil generation. By letting the wicked do all they did to Him, Jesus completely exposed the extreme depth of the depravity of this wicked generation and justified the Father in everything the Father must do to rid the universe of such evil. It might have been hard to believe how absolutely wicked this generation really is until it was seen that they actually want Him destroyed; their own Creator, their own Redeemer, their own Savior. Jesus also showed that for the most part this evil generation is beyond salvation because their wickedness is so great that they even refuse to receive salvation when God freely offers it to them. And to the ones who do receive Him, they will be saved not as a part of the wicked generation but by being brought out of that adamic generation and into a new generation. This is what the book of Acts means when it says save yourself from this wicked and perverse generation; get out of it! (Acts 2:40) Therefore “Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” (2Cor 6:17-18) Come out of Babylon My people, lest you share in her sins and receive of her plagues. (Rev 18:4) But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner-- not even to eat with such a person. (1Cor 5:11) All of this pertains to separating yourself from this wicked and perverse generation because this generation is the generation of God’s wrath. But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, (Rom 2:5) This wicked generation will be destroyed to a man, not one will escape. The only ones who will survive are the ones who are not a part of the wicked and perverse generation because they’ve taken hold by faith of the regeneration available in Christ. So Jesus said to them, “Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed Me will also sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel. (Matt 19:28) There is a new generation, a regeneration, that will replace this wicked and perverse generation. And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving Spirit. However, the Spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the Spiritual. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man. Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of God; nor does corruption inherit incorruption. (1Cor 15:45-50) Notice where he says the man of dust versus the Lord from Heaven, “He who comes from above is above all; he who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all. “And what He has seen and heard, that He testifies; and no one receives His testimony. “He who has received His testimony has certified that God is true. (John 3:31-33) And then, “I know that you are Abraham’s descendants, but you seek to kill Me, because My Word has no place in you. “I speak what I have seen with My Father, and you do what you have seen with your father.” Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. “He who is of God hears God’s Words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.” (John 8:37,38,42,47) The parable of the tares also has to do with this, “The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the Kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. “The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. (Matt 13:38-39) The good seeds are the sons of the Kingdom because there is something in them that responds to God. They were sown by God and they respond to God and they hear God’s Words. The good seeds are the ones that will be or are born again. The good seed takes hold of the Word when the Word comes to them and they will escape from this wicked and perverse generation because of the grace of God that reaches out to them and opens their hearts to receive God’s Word and they become a people born of God. The bad seeds on the other hand are sown by the devil. What can you do for them? What more could God do than what He’s done? The offering of His own Son – the extraordinary suffering of Christ – the unfathomable love, grace and the giving of the Holy Spirit and yet they reject it all. What’s left to do but destroy them? The adamic nature cannot be saved. It’s at enmity with God. But God in Christ has made every possible and needful provision so that mankind can put away the wicked flesh and come into the righteousness of Christ. And flesh and blood, the adamic generation, is not going to inherit the Kingdom of God. There has to be a transformation, there has to be a regeneration, this corruptible has to put on incorruption. The final fulfillment of the regeneration is the resurrection when we receive our glorified bodies and we bear the physical and Spiritual image of the resurrected Christ. But the regeneration has already begun in the elect as in, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, (Titus 3:5) The body hasn’t been regenerated but what is inside our body has. So we true believers are already members of the new generation, the regeneration, and we are no longer members of this wicked and perverse generation. “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; and the former shall not be remembered or come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem as a rejoicing, and her people a joy. (Is 65:17-18) This is the final new creation and the true Christian who has been born again is already a part of it, the beginnings of it. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision avails anything, but a new creation. (Gal 6:15) Save yourself from this wicked and perverse generation and become regenerated and be a part of the new generation, the Jesus generation, second Adam generation. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. (2Cor 5:17) In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away. (Heb 8:13) Likewise the old man, the adamic nature is made obsolete by the new nature and it will soon pass away. There they are in great fear, for God is with the generation of the righteous. (Ps 14:5) He is not with this wicked and perverse generation. Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation. This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. (Ps 24:3-6) Notice, There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. (Rom 3:11) So the generation who seeks after God is not the “Romans three” generation but a totally different generation. Who could this be, this generation that seeks Him? It’s not a forty year generation of people in the earth, this is the people of the regeneration. The real generation of Jacob are the people who seek God; the new generation. The obsolete generation you must escape from is described as, “There is none righteous, no, not one; There is none who understands; there is none who seeks after God. They have all turned aside; they have together become unprofitable; there is none who does good, no, not one.” (Rom 3:10-12) In the obsolete generation no one seeks after God. “Their throat is an open tomb; with their tongues they have practiced deceit”; “The poison of asps is under their lips”; “Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness.” “Their feet are swift to shed blood; Destruction and misery are in their ways; And the way of peace they have not known.” “There is no fear of God before their eyes.” (Rom 3:13-18) This describes the wicked and perverse generation and it is the character of adamic mankind from 6,000 years ago right up to today. According to God not one of them is worth anything; they’re unprofitable; they don’t fear God. If any of them are to be saved God has to seek after them. The problem is even when God does seek after them most of them don’t want anything to do with Him. But some receive and they become regenerated and that becomes the new generation. But God is justified because He’s offered it to all but only the ones who receive can be saved. The ones who don’t receive have shown that it isn’t because God isn’t gracious and it isn’t because God didn’t do everything possible to save them, it’s because they are unsaveable – they reject salvation for themselves. Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, “It was necessary that the Word of God should be spoken to you first; but since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, we turn to the Gentiles.” (Acts 13:46) So all the angels of heaven can rejoice at their destruction. “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, for God has avenged you on her!” (Rev 18:20) It’s an interesting thing in Revelation that the kings of the earth weep and lament over Babylon’s destruction, the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, but the holy apostles and prophets rejoice over her destruction. “Rejoice because God has avenged you on her.” This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. (Ps 24:6) Obviously those who rejoice over Babylon’s destruction are not of the world – while those who lament are of the world. “If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” (John 15:19) Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. (1John 2:15) To not love the world or the things in the world, that’s characteristic of the new generation. So those who seek after God are not of the world – and those who love the world are of the old generation; not one of them seeks after God; not one of them! If I had said, “I will speak thus,” behold, I would have been untrue to the generation of Your children. (Ps 73:15) Here the Psalmist is seeing the prosperity of the wicked but he knows he would be wrong to express these feelings because he said if he were to speak that way he would be untrue to the generation of God’s children, because he knows it can’t be true that the wicked are blessed more than the righteous. It has to be a lie and I can’t tell them a lie. I can’t be untrue to the generation of your children. And in the sanctuary God shows him the truth. The wicked will be destroyed terrifyingly – suddenly. And the righteous, His descendants will be mighty on earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed. (Ps 112:2) But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; (1Pet 2:9) So you see it is most important to understand the scriptural word generation has much more to say to us than just to describe a particular group of descendants, like the forty year generation in Moses’ day, or the people of Jeremiah’s day etc. And the most important thing to understand is there are two generations right now on the earth; the New Covenant generation of God’s born again people versus the old adamic generation that is wicked and perverse and doesn’t seek after God. The new generation of the righteous originate from the day of Pentecost when Jesus was glorified and sent forth the Holy Spirit to glorify His people. Previous to that the Lord had righteous people in the earth but even concerning John the Baptist He said – “Assuredly, I say to you, among those born of women there has not risen one greater than John the Baptist; but he who is least in the Kingdom of heaven is greater than he.” (Matt 11:11) Although he was part of Adam’s generation John the Baptist overcame his adamic nature and he was a righteous man and it took a lot of strength to do that without being regenerated. And even though there were others that did it like Abraham and David, yet you still see David’s fall. The terrible wickedness of the adamic nature is that it almost always tends to decline. You never see it in ascendance. For example, when God cleans the house, takes the Jews out of Egypt, gets them into the Promised Land through Joshua, even after all that they degenerate again and again, suffering judgment after judgment. Every time God cleans house and has a revival like in the times of Hezekiah and Josiah within another 20 years the people are back to their old sins. Every time He cleans house through the book of Judges and sends in a prophet or a Judge who deals with their enemies, cleanses the land, gets rid of the idols, still within a generation or two they’re back to their sins. They are not the “just whose path shineth more and more to a brighter day.” (Prov 4:18) Something is dreadfully wrong with the generation that came from Adam and onward through Noah. God starts a brand new earth with Noah and before two generations is past we’ve got Nimrod fighting against God again. And even today in America you can see the continual degeneration. Morally Americans are on a downhill slide – and the churches for the most part are going with them. And you need to separate yourself as much as is possible from the corruption, both in the world and in the fallen or false churches. Even so you will encounter many disturbing experiences, vile words and wicked pictures that will try to take hold of your mind and shake your faith. Even though we are sanctified, because we are still in this world we will encounter such things but God has given us grace to overcome. When the world tries to throw its wicked ideas or images at me they don’t have an effect on me. They don’t have an effect on me because I reign in Christ and I’ve discovered that these things the devil does to try to put you into condemnation just because you unexpectedly saw something or heard something unclean; they only have power if you believe they have power. I stopped believing the devil had any power to pervert my mind or to pollute my mind with his wicked images. So when they come along I don’t pay them any more attention than I pay a telephone solicitor. As soon as I identify them it’s good-bye, no thank you. And as soon as I see one of those wicked images it’s no thank you, good-bye you’re out of here. Because I reign through Christ they don’t have power over me but I have power over them. When you figure that out you will be free from those things because the only way they can bother you is when you think they have power over you. You learn to stop believing they can affect you and you just get on about your business with the Lord and you’ll be free. But a lot of “christians” are not free because they haven’t seen that simple truth when it comes to afflicting your soul, the devil only has the power you give him. You give him the power by believing he can do it. Well, don’t believe. When it comes to the devil don’t believe the devil can, but when it comes to God believe God can. You’re a chosen generation and that’s speaking of every believer, every New Covenant, New Testament, new creation, son of God, walking by the Spirit, born again believer. This is the new generation, a chosen generation, and that’s what you do to save yourself from the wicked and perverse generation, you get out of it and you take hold of what Jesus is giving you so that you can become a part of the chosen generation. When Jesus says things like to be saved you must hate your life in this world, this is precisely what He’s talking about; you must hate the adamic nature. “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.” (Luke 14:26) You must recognize the generation of Adam, the fleshly nature, is hateful and it takes you on a downward path. Even if God gets you up, washes you until you are sparkly clean, if you remain in that adamic nature you will start to degenerate again and in a little while you will be worse off than before He first cleansed you. And because of that you should be very aware of the direction of your Spiritual life. When you look back and can see you were doing better a few weeks ago than today, that’s a solid evidence you left behind the new nature and went back to the old because the old goes down and the new goes up. When you’re in the new nature you’re getting better everyday not worse everyday. Whenever you can look at a “church” and you can say that “church” is going downhill, then they’ve fallen from grace. They’ve left behind the new Christ nature and gone back to the old adamic nature and the old nature goes down. They may have some spiritual habits and they may look like they’re spiritual for a little while but it gets less and less because they are not on the path of the just they are on the path of the wicked and perverse generation and it’s headed to hell. And it isn’t hard to see the direction that you are going in if you want to and you better save yourself from that wicked and perverse generation. (Acts 2:40) You need to get into the generation that you can see is moving up. The surest evidence that you are in the new generation is that “the path of the just shines more and more unto the perfect day” and “to him who has more is given.” (Prov 4:18; Matt 25:29) So the truest evidence of your salvation is that you are increasingly getting holy, increasing in faith, increasing in your relationship with God in every way. If you are in the new creation you are on an ascendancy, moving upward. And that defines the difference between the Jerusalem below and the Jerusalem above. The people of the Jerusalem below are in the adamic nature and they are not saved no matter how much religion they have because they still haven’t crucified the flesh. The people who are saved, they are learning to stay out of the flesh and becoming more and more successful at abiding in Christ, abiding in the Spirit, and staying in the place where they’re moving upward all the time; not sliding back. This is an extraordinarily important thing to understand because you can spot whether a Christian is real or not just by comparing what he was last year to what he is now. You can spot whether a church is real or not just by making that simple comparison. You should have no expectations whatsoever of getting any good out of the wicked generation around us. There is no true or lasting good in them; there is none who does good no not one. That’s the label God put on them so don’t expect any good and don’t be disappointed when you don’t get any good from them because it would be foolish to expect any good from them. A bad tree cannot bear good fruit. The only good you can get from them is to offer them salvation and see if they’ll repent and take hold of it which most won’t because they are that wicked. That’s the sad thing. But we keep trying because some will. Which are you? Which generation are you of? This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face. (Ps 24:6) Do you really have a relationship where you seek the Lord more today than you did yesterday? Then you have something to rejoice about because God has created you to be a joy; a generation that’s chosen to give Him praise and give Him glory. He’s chosen you to be a part of that generation, created you to be part of that generation and you can rejoice in what He’s given you and hold on to it and go after it with all your heart. For “You are a chosen generation.” (1Pet 2:9) Prophecy: I was found by a people who were not seeking for Me. Because in this generation there are none who seek Me, none. There are those who know of Me who I’ve reached out to over and over again but they do not want what I offer them and what they have of Me they want to have on their own terms. And there are those who know nothing of Me and when I reveal Myself and call them they want nothing of Me and turn and run from the light. But there are those who though they were not seeking Me, I sought them and I found them and when I found them they were happy to be found and they rejoiced that I found them and they knew that I was their Creator and their Lord. They had been hoping for something better and didn’t know what it was until I found them and then they knew they had found what they had been hoping for and they receive what I offer them. And I offer them a new life, a new creation life, a regenerated life, and these are the people that I will take into My Kingdom, saith the Lord. For though they were not seeking Me when I found them they rejoiced in being found. And these are – My church, My children, My chosen generation in Christ, saith the Lord.
