Overcomers! By Pastor Bill Taylor A publication of My Father's House, inc. Volume 7//Issue 10 Prophecy: Blessed are you when you’re doing My will. Blessed are you when you find yourself in Me where My life is pouring out through you. Verily, verily, I say blessed are you. For many complain they don’t have the time to serve Me. Many complain that they don’t have enough time to read their Bible, to pray. But I say this, those who are in the flesh they can never fit their schedules into My schedule. They find no peace for all they have is death. But I say blessed are those who find themselves in Me. For they’ll find themselves on judgment day having the greater works which I’ve promised to those who love Me and they’ll shame all those who’ve claimed they didn’t have enough time. For they have time to do their own will but don’t have time to do My will. But thus saith the Lord, to you who do My will blessed are you. Prophecy: The disciplines of your faith work towards one end, that you should bring forth fruit, and be useful to the Kingdom. Therefore you must put away those things which get in the way, and you must be holy. For how can you set others free from sins you haven’t yet conquered yourself? Therefore you must be diligent. For how can you overcome the evil one if you don’t strive for the mastery? And in all the things faith teaches you, the purpose is for you to bring forth the good works foreordained from the foundations of the earth. So there must be space, time, place in your life to be taught of Me that you may be strengthened and be edified by Me and that you can work with Me, saith the Lord. And when you’re working with Me what will you be doing? The very work that I do for I’ll be working through you and the work I do is to destroy the works of the evil one. I destroy his lies and I set his captives free from those things that lead to death. That’s the work you’re to prepare for and make space for in your life. And that’s how you can tell those who are of Me from those who aren’t. For the ones who are of Me are fighting against the lies, the heresies and these things satan uses in men’s imaginations to build strongholds to destroy souls. But those who are Mine, their weapons are mighty. And they use those weapons to pull down the strongholds, to cast down the imaginations, and to teach the Truth so the souls of men can be set free, be saved, and live. It’s not difficult to see who’s of the Truth. And it’s a wicked thing that so many “churches” have been confused on this issue which indicates how much they’ve been under the sway of the enemy themselves. For it’s easy to see who has Me in them. The one who has Me is doing My work, casting down the lies, standing up for Truth, exposing the darkness, shining forth the light. For that’s My work and that’s what works in the one I’m in, saith the Lord. (Prophecies delivered at “My Father’s House”) “He who overcomes shall inherit all things…” (Rev21:7) Only “believers” who overcome enter the Kingdom of Heaven. There’s no doubt about this. There’s no salvation to those who don’t overcome. No matter how much knowledge you have about Jesus – no matter how many times you go to church – no matter how many scriptures you memorize, the end purpose of all the things that pertain to Christianity is to make you an overcomer. If you don’t become an overcomer, you’ll be lost. Every letter to the churches in Revelations ends with “to him who overcomes.” To him who overcomes I’ll give to eat from the tree of life… (Rev2:7) So he who doesn’t overcome won’t eat from the tree of life. He who overcomes shall not be hurt by the second death. (Rev2:11) But the one who doesn’t overcome will be. To him who overcomes I’ll give some of the hidden manna to eat. (Rev2:17) Then he who doesn’t overcome won’t taste that hidden manna. He who overcomes and keeps My works until the end, to him I’ll give power over the nations… (Rev2:26) He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I won’t blot out his name from the Book of Life… (Rev3:5) (A distinct contradiction to “once saved/always saved.”) He who overcomes, I’ll make him a pillar in the temple of My God... (Rev3:12) To him who overcomes I’ll grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. (Rev3:21) We must be overcomers to enter God’s Kingdom but how do we overcome? Whatever’s born of God overcomes the world. (1Jn5:4) Then we must be born of God to be an overcomer. Jesus says, “These things I’ve spoken to you that in Me you may have peace. In the world you’ll have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I’ve overcome the world.” (Jn16:33) By abiding in Christ the overcomer we enter into His power, His victory. For whatever’s born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that’s overcome the world-- our faith. (1Jn5:4) And since it’s abiding in Christ that make us overcomers the faith that “saves” is the faith that produces Christ in you. Christ has overcome the world (Jn16:33) so this is the victory that overcomes the world -- our faith when it produces Christ the overcomer in us. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes Jesus is the Son of God? (1Jn5:5) To be an overcomer you must believe in such a way as to become baptized in faith and born of God – He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who doesn’t believe will be condemned. (Mk16:16) – You must believe in such a way as to put on Christ – For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Gal 3:27) – You must believe in such a way as to have Christ the overcomer live in you. – You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who’s in you is greater than he who’s in the world. (1Jn4:4) So you’re an overcomer only if Jesus is in you because He’s the one who’s overcome the world. And if you’re born again it’s Jesus who’s born into you. And if you have the faith the bible talks about concerning salvation it’s the faith for Jesus to live in you: Christ in you the hope of glory. (Col 1:27) If you have faith for Jesus to live in you He’ll overcome everything that could keep you from entering the Kingdom of Heaven. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils. (Lk11:21,22) If we’re overcomers, we should be dividing the spoils of the enemy and taking away everything he trusts in. The devil, the world and the flesh are our enemies. The carnal or worldly church is a front-line enemy thru which the devil, the world and the flesh operate. This is the Jerusalem below. (Gal 4:25) They’re born of the flesh not the Spirit! (v23) And they persecute the true believers. (v29) What do they trust in? Power politics, peer pressures, lies, heresies, false doctrines, imaginations, the wisdom of men, religious conjectures and unproven speculations. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments (imaginations OKJ) and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, (2Cor10:4,5) Because we have Christ in us, we can spoil and overcome such enemies. While they promise them liberty, they themselves are slaves of corruption; for by whom a person is overcome, by him also he is brought into bondage. (2Pt2:19) Don’t you know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you’re that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness? (Rom6:16) How can you think you have Jesus in you if you’re being overcome by sin? In such a case sin is your Lord not Christ. And without Christ, instead of overcoming you will be overcome. And you won’t enter the Kingdom of Heaven if you’ve been overcome by sin. (1Cor6:9,10) But if Christ is in you then; Greater is He that’s in you, than he that’s in the world. (1Jn4:4) The only way to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven is to truly have Christ in you and if you truly have faith for Christ to live in you, you’ll demonstrate by your behavior that your faith has produced Christ in you. (Jms2:17,18) Examine yourselves as to whether you’re in the faith. Test yourselves. Don’t you know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? Unless indeed you are disqualified. (2Cor13:5) If your faith isn’t producing Christ in you, you aren’t overcoming but being overcome and disqualified as a Christian. Paul warns the Galatians because they are turning away from faith for Christ to live in them. You’ve become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you’ve fallen from grace. (Gal 5:4) My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you, (Gal 4:19) If Jesus isn’t being formed in you, you won’t be overcomers but you’ll be overcome and in bondage. Paul speaks of the Jerusalem below being in bondage. (Gal 4:25) If the Jerusalem below is in bondage, she doesn’t have Christ in her. If she had Christ in her, she’d be an overcomer. She wouldn’t be in bondage. The Jerusalem below is a carnal, fleshly, man-made church which has some of the letter of God’s Word but not the Spirit of Christ. (2Cor3:6) Today so many “church” people are in bondage to sin, to lust, to deception. Christ can’t be in them because they aren’t overcomers. Although they claim to be “saved” their failure to overcome sin, their worldly materialism, their impotence against their spiritual enemies, is a proof that they aren’t of the Jerusalem above. The Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all, (Gal 4:26) if Christ is in us, but Christ isn’t in them! They’re trusting in the “letter” of Christianity for salvation while they don’t have the Spirit. (2Cor3:6) They’re fallen from grace. Paul prays that God would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height -- to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. (Eph3:16-19) And here you can see if mighty Christ the overcomer is in you His love must also be in you. Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. (1Jn4:17) So as He’s the overcomer of this world we also are overcomers if we have the faith that forms Christ in us. But if while we seek to be justified by Christ we ourselves also are found sinners, is Christ therefore a minister of sin? Certainly not! (Gal 2:17) If while we’re seeking to be justified in Christ, we’re found to be sinners then our faith hasn’t produced Christ in us because if Christ were really in us we wouldn’t be found sinners. These wicked churches like the Baptists who claim Christ is in them while they continue in SIN make Christ a minister of sin. They blasphemously claim to be forgiven so they might continue in their sin with impunity. The Truth is if you’re still sinning, Christ isn’t in you, and your “faith” isn’t the faith that saves! Let no one deceive you. He who practices righteousness is righteous just as He (Christ) is righteous. He who sins is of the devil for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested that He might destroy the works of the devil. Whoever’s been born of God doesn’t sin, for His seed remains in him; and he can’t sin, because he’s been born of God. (1Jn3:7-9) Whatever’s born of God OVERCOMES SIN AND OVERCOMES THE WORLD. In this the children of God and the children of the devil are manifest… (v10) This is how we tell who’s who. The one that is born of God DOESN’T SIN because the Greater One is in him! The one who’s born of God is stronger than sin and He takes away all the armor in which the flesh trusts and crucifies the flesh. The one who’s born of God has been set free to serve the Lord. To grant us that we, being delivered from the hand of our enemies, might serve Him without fear, in holiness and righteousness before Him all the days of our life. (Lk1:74,75) These scriptures prove that real Christianity produces the manifest victory of Christ in the believer, and Jesus manifests in His people as the overcomer. When a church can’t have a decent prayer meeting it’s not overcoming. It’s in bondage. When the believers are distracted by the cares of this world, deceitfulness of riches and lusts of other things (Mk4:19) they aren’t overcoming the world but they’ve been overcome by it. Christ isn’t in them. They won’t be saved until they take hold of the faith for Christ to live in them. And if Jesus is in you, you’ll be an overcomer. You won’t be ineffectual and in bondage when it comes time to pray, prophesy, witness, share your testimony or whatever; you’ll be victorious. So if you’re still fighting these silly little spirits that you can’t be a decent witness for Christ, or have a respectable prayer meeting in your church, you don’t have Jesus in you and you better wake up to the fact that your faith isn’t working because we aren’t here just to talk about Jesus, but to be a temple for Him to live in! And you can only demonstrate He’s in you by having a faith that overcomes. And a mistake being made in many churches today is when pastors think the best thing God could do would be to give them a great power ministry where they lay hands on everyone and cure everyone and where all kinds of miracles take place. I believe in miracles and God has graciously permitted me to participate in a number of His wondrous works and I desire to see even more miracles but if you come to me and God gives you a miracle then you’ve been blessed by the Christ in me but it may have nothing to do with the Christ in you. So if you had a pastor who solved all your problems – every time you get sick he’d lay hands on you and you’d get well – who’d pray the devils away and you’d never have to fight the devil yourself – and you’d spend your life under the umbrella of that pastor’s faith in the end you might go to hell because you wouldn’t have exercised your own faith or overcome anything. The one who has Jesus in him will overcome many things but you’d have overcome nothing and never have evidenced that you had any Jesus in you. So it’s a travesty when preachers think they’re to be doing that for their people, and when they want to run some kind of a miracle ministry getting lots of attention as to the great power they have and such. Many will say to Me in that day, “Lord, Lord, haven’t we prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?” and then I’ll declare to them, “I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Mt7:22,23) And yet they’ve no concept that there’s something more important God needs to do. He needs to teach His people to have Jesus in THEM – PERSONALLY – INDIVIDUALLY, so each believer can become an overcomer, because ONLY overcomers will enter Heaven! And ONLY by having Jesus in them can they be overcomer! In “My Father’s House” often members with afflictions come to me and I lay hands on them and then they have to stand in faith. They don’t always get an instant healing but many have to go home and fight the battle of faith themselves, stand on God’s Word themselves and demonstrate by their actions they believe they’ve received. (Mk11:23) Because they don’t get healed from the Christ in me alone but they also have to receive from the Christ in them. We’re required to learn how to stand ourselves and overcome and have Christ in ourselves in “My Father’s House” because that’s the calling God has on this church. It’s not permitted me to do everything for you but I must teach you how to do it. You must believe to have Christ in you, which means we don’t always look like a fireworks, miracle, high power ministry. But we truly save people here. We conform them to the image of Christ. Whereas with these big name evangelists… There’s a reason for their miracles. They work to catch babies. If they’re of God they bring new believers into the church, and take care of them as babies who don’t have faith to take care of themselves. But what good is it if those babies never grow up? If they never become overcomers, they won’t go to Heaven. I write to you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for His name's sake. But I write to you, young men, because you have overcome the wicked one. (1Jn2:13) Too many preachers today want to have a miracle ministry because it will make them famous, make them look big in the eyes of others – fill their church; but it fills their church with babies. And too many times these babies stay babies for the rest of their lives, always chasing some evangelists around – running up to the healing line every chance they get – trying to depend on the Jesus in the evangelist and never learning how to overcome themselves because they don’t have Jesus in them. Then they die and go to hell because they’ve never been an overcomer. And the two-fold mistake here is to be pursuing the Christ outside – the Christ in someone else and never attaining to the Christ inside, Christ in you, the hope of glory (Col 1:27) which is what salvation is, that you must have Jesus in you. That’s what keeps the true believer from stumbling when those around him are falling right and left (A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand; but it shall not come near you. – Ps91:7) They’re falling because they don’t have faith for Christ to live in them. The most important ministry a pastor can have is to teach people how to have Christ live in them, which means you don’t do everything for them. You teach them to do things themselves. Instead of teaching people how to have Christ in them most preachers today are just telling them to believe Christ is in them when He isn’t, and they never show any evidence that He is. The preachers should show people how to examine themselves to see that Christ is working in them to will and to do of God’s good pleasure. (Phil 2:13) The people need to be taught how to put Christ on – not just told to believe they have Him. Put off concerning your former conduct the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new man which was created according to God in true righteousness and holiness. (Eph4:22-24) In most “churches” it’s only the Jesus outside people are worshiping. They’re saying, “Jesus out there save me. Jesus out there get the devil off me. Jesus out there give me victory over temptations. Jesus out there straighten out my family.” Jesus has overcome every devil and now rules over all things. The Jesus out there has done that. But this is what He doesn’t want to do – He doesn’t want to come into the church, drive all the devils off for you – heal you – and still be outside. What Jesus wants to do, is to come alive inside of you and then thru you overcome devils – overcome temptations – give wisdom to straighten things out – THROUGH YOU! When the news comes to Jairus that his daughter is dead the Jesus beside him says, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe.” (Mk5:36) But today Jesus isn’t beside but inside the true believer – so when a test of faith comes upon you it’s Christ inside, the Christ in you who must say, “Don’t be afraid. Only believe.” That’s what you must have faith for Him to do – to live in you and thru you – to overcome temptations thru you – to be wise thru you – to speak thru you and to rule and reign thru you. He doesn’t want to get the victory for you. He wants to get the victory THROUGH YOU, where you’re a participant ruling and reigning with Him. That’s always been His purpose in “My Father’s House” because it’s His purpose for His church. Because of that He’s limited what He’ll do FOR YOU. Jesus isn’t expecting us to stay babies in this church. He is taking us on to perfection. So He’s not giving everything to you the easy way. Every one of you must demonstrate Christ in you by overcoming or you aren’t in the faith – you aren’t a temple unto His Spirit – you’re no better than any heretical false church or cult if your Christianity doesn’t produce the overcoming Christ in you. Because there’ll be manifest victories, if Christ is in you. You won’t be the one in bondage. You’ll be the one who casts the devil out. You’ll be the one who binds and looses. You won’t be the one who’s bound. Examine yourselves as to whether you’re in the faith. Test yourselves. Don’t you know that Jesus Christ is in you? -- unless indeed you’re disqualified. (2Cor13:5) It doesn’t make sense to call yourself a believer when you don’t have the faith for Christ to live in you. So get the faith for Jesus to live in you then demonstrate He’s there by overcoming the wicked one. And this is the victory that has overcome the world -- our faith. (1Jn5:4) Never again let the world, the flesh or the devil jump on you – conquer you – take you into bondage. What a SHAMEFUL THING IT IS to be a people who’ve been taught so much about Jesus yet don’t have Him in you! People talk about conquering the world for Christ while they can’t even conquer their own lusts and fears. They can’t even reign in their own homes and churches. Well if you can’t do it here! If you can’t conquer the devils in your own mind, your own family, your own church, if you haven’t even overcome your own sins, it isn’t because God’s failed you. It’s because you haven’t exercised true faith. How do you get that faith? A true baptism is the beginning! For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (Gal 3:27) (See our book “Baptism and Salvation”) You put Christ on by faith. You pursue faith. (1Tim6:11) You go to God’s Word, believe what God says and be a doer of the Word not a hearer only. (Jms1:22) You pray and ask God to increase your faith. (2Cor10:15) The faith that produces Christ in you is the only hope of glory you have. (Col 1:27) There’s no other salvation except Christ in you the hope of glory. It’s the only faith that will save you. Get a hold of Christ in you and He’ll make you an overcomer! Being an overcomer in Christ is the only way to salvation! He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I’ll be his God and he shall be My son. (Rev21:7) Prophecy: I’m bringing forth sons and daughters full of faith; sons and daughters who believe that what I say I’ve the power to perform. I’m the God who’s created all things and can overcome all things. And know if you come to me I’m able to overcome all things in you. I’ll give you the power to be perfect in righteousness. I don’t speak things that are vain or useless. My Words are power and Truth. Come to Me and find the power you need to be a perfect new creation, a son of God who’s pleasing in all things. I haven’t said these things in vain. In Me is all the strength you need to be an overcomer and to be glorifying to Me, perfect and complete in all My will, thus saith the Lord. Prophecy: Keep your eyes on Me, My people and look to Me “Christ in you” for I’m raising you up to be a mighty church full of faith in My awesome power to change you, to set you free from every demonic spirit, to cause you to overcome all things so you can enter into My perfection saith the Lord. This is what I’m doing. This is the good news I’m sending to those I’m saving, My elect through out the world, that in Me is the power to overcome. In Christ is the victory over all things that oppose My will, My Spirit, and My Word. Don’t let doubt come out of your mouth. Don’t let waverings come out of your mouth. Don’t let “I think so, maybe” come out of your mouth. Come to Me and I’ll show you the things that are of Me that you can say, “I know the will of My Lord.” I’m going to use you to show those who think perfection isn’t attainable, that My people can attain and in you many will see My awesome and mighty power. Look to Me and magnify Me, “Christ in you” that men may see My awesomeness, that they may come to Me and have the very things I’m doing in you done in them, that they too may overcome and become perfected and be a part of My bride, saith the Lord. For I’m with you in these things. I’ve the power to cause you to overcome, and you’ll overcome as you turn to Me, Christ in you, saith the Lord. Prophecy: I’m one with My people, and they’re a people in which I live and I do My will. For My people believe for Me to live in them, and they want no other life but Mine and no other will but Mine. And My people are those who’ve turned away from this world and they’re faithful to Me for they’ve overcome the spirit of harlotry and have broken the bonds of covetousness. They’ve broken the chains of pride and they’ve humbled themselves to know Me, to draw near to Me, and even come as little children to depend upon Me. These are the people I call My Own. And I tell you, there aren’t two churches in the world. There’s not a church made up of the humble, the dependant, those filled with faith to let Me live in them, and another church of presumption and pride, worldliness, and the puffed up knowledge of men. There’s one church. The church over which I’m head is the only church I recognize. And those who claim to be Mine and yet pursue all these other things, aren’t Mine, and I’ll make it known they aren’t Mine. And their pride, their boasting and their glorying will be turned into shame. For indeed, apart from Me they can accomplish nothing. Yet through the humble ones who’ve come to Me I’ll work a mighty work of salvation in the earth that will bring glory to My name and joy to all those who believe on Me, thus saith the Lord.
