Corban, Calvinism, & 7th Day Adventists!

By Pastor Bill Taylor

A publication of My Father's House, inc. Volume 5//Issue 5

Prophecy: Even those who’ve expected mighty things from Me will be awed by the extent of the victory I’m bringing forth in this day. For I’ll unite My people and bring My sons together. And My church will be glorious. She’ll be awesome in the earth, and the nations will learn to fear My name again. But when I call My people to unity they’ll not hold hands anymore with the presumptuous, the filthy, the worldly, the carnal, the liars, the deceivers, the false christians, the Ishmaels, or the sons of Belial. For when I call My people to unity they’ll separate from everything that’s separate from Me and they’ll know Me. They’ll know My Word. They’ll know My ways. They’ll be of one faith and one Spirit. They’ll be one with Me and they’ll be an awesome church; a glorious church, for I shall have My way concerning My church in this earth, saith the Lord. (Prophecy delivered at “My Father’s House”)

O My people! Those who lead you cause you to err, and destroy the way of your paths. (Is3:12) Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat bread.” He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?” (Mt15:1-3)

There’s a similar situation going on in most so-called “churches” today, who are judging according to their particular denomination’s traditions (of men) but they’re disregarding the Word of God. In the scriptures Jesus doesn’t play games with those who do this. He immediately points out the real sin. The sin isn’t that we don’t wash our hands and keep your traditions. The real sin is you don’t follow God and keep His Word. “For God commanded,” (vs4) then He gives an example of how they’ve made God’s Word of no effect by their traditions.

The Pharisees called this “corban.” (Mk7:11) There are many examples of corban in the so-called “churches” of today. Corban literally means “dedicated to God” but was actually used as an excuse to do something in a way different than God said to do it and to say you’re doing it for God when you’re really doing it for yourself. Corban is a definitive characteristic of all false religion. The term “corban” can be used to describe many of the activities of apostate churches. What they do is “corban” when they claim it’s for God yet it’s not for God but for themselves.

Honor your father and mother is the commandment. He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death. (Mt15:4) But you say, “Whoever says to his father or mother, whatever profit you might have received from me is corban (a gift to God)”--then you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother, making the Word of God of no effect through your tradition. (Mk7:11-13) Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying: “These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.” (Mt15:7-9) In vain they worship Me means they won’t go to Heaven. Their worship is useless. In vain they worship Me if they teach as doctrines the commandments of men.

The religious leadership tells people, “Give us some money and you won’t have to support your parents anymore. We’ll call it a gift to God and set you free.” Why do they come up with such things? Because they’re greedy. Corban is the church’s greediness. Covetous men use their positions as church leaders to do things which God hates “in the name of God” and cause people to think they’re serving God when they do the very opposite of what God wants. How could such a thing be that the churches themselves become the enemies of the God they claim to serve, teaching as doctrines commandments of men and causing the people to err? My answer is how could it not come to pass? It’s the most obvious thing in the world that men are depraved, wicked and selfish. Anything fallen man touches must end up being corrupted by his selfishness. How could you possibly expect carnal men to enter into the Christian religion and not defile it? How could fallen man ever do anything right? It’s insanity to think just because men put on religious clothes or begin to study things concerning God that they’re going to get rid of their selfishness. Selfishness is a part of men. It won’t come out just because they put on a religious façade or go to seminary! And if selfishness is in the church members then the church itself will become just as depraved as the men in it. So it should be no surprise that most churches are corrupt. Men are corrupt. Certainly churches run by corrupt men will be corrupt. The numerous divisions and heresies caused by false prophets in the churches is the only way it could possibly be in a church world filled with depraved, self-serving, fallen men. There are corrupt churches everywhere because anytime man gets involved in anything, whether he’s selling cars or running a government, he’ll corrupt it. Man corrupts everything he gets into and that includes religion. If you think just because you’re getting into religion there’s an immunity to the corruption, you’re a fool!

What corrupts a family? Selfishness. What corrupted Cain? Selfishness. “I’m not my brother’s keeper” is selfishness! So selfishness gets into one brother and he becomes a murderer. He should have been his brother’s keeper. He should have protected his brother. But he becomes his brother’s killer. The selfishness turns a relationship God created in which brothers should take care of each other, into something competitive and deadly. That’s the nature of fallen man. That’s sin in the flesh! A man marries a woman. If he’s selfish he turns her into a slave. He tries to make her serve his every whim. In a relationship in which God intended the weaker vessel to be protected by the stronger the weaker woman ends up being abused by the stronger man. Selfishness turns the marriage into something unjust and tormenting; what’s supposed to be a blessing becomes a curse.

Government was created for the safety of the people. Rulers are to lead with wisdom and judgment, thinking of their subjects as their own children, righteously watching over the safety of their citizens. The bible tells us the very purpose of government is to protect good people from evil. (Rom13:1-6) But selfishness comes in and the citizens are turned into slaves. They’re abused and forced to serve the interests of those who have the power. So what God created for good becomes bad. Tyrants and dictatorships rise up. The strong rule over the weak to their disadvantage instead of rulers taking care of the weak. The strong often abuse the weak because it’s easy since the weak can’t fight back. So the rich and powerful often steal from the weak and defraud them while the governments help the rich instead of protecting and watching over the poor! Now selfishness comes into the church. What happens? God intends His church to be a place where men can get to know God, serve God, save their souls, attain to everlasting life, and immortality but the leaders of the church become selfish. They lose interest in serving God. They choose to serve themselves. They pervert God’s truths. “God wants people to take care of their parents but give some money to us and we’ll exempt you from supporting them.” In their greed wicked leaders look for anything they can devise that will help them to line their pockets, increase their influence and gain prestige in the eyes of men. They’ll do anything. They’ll pervert anything God speaks in order to advance themselves. Because why? Because they’re men. That’s the very thing they need to be saved from.

Now the significant point is, there’s no “christianity” that can save men’s souls until the cross has been applied to both the leaders and the believers. Until selfishness has been nailed to the cross, there can be no salvation. Even “christianity” will become as evil as the people involved in it unless their sinful flesh is crucified and that’s why Paul preaches Christ crucified lest the power of the cross be made of no effect. (1Cor1:17,23) There is no salvation unless you belong to Christ which means you’ve crucified your flesh with its passions and desires. (Gal 5:24) There is no church’s leadership who can lead you to Christ until those leaders have been crucified to the world and the world to them. (Gal 6:14) So it isn’t a strange thing that the majority of “christians” and “churches” today are deceived, depraved, lost and corrupted. It’s exactly what you’d expect when uncircumcised, uncrucified men are running the church. And the only way this can be turned around is for the believers to learn to recognize the difference between the brethren and leaders who are crucified, and those who aren’t. True Christians must discern who are the real men of God from those who aren’t. Give us O’ Lord the grace to see and participate only in the real churches where Christ reigns; not flesh and not selfishness. Corban is what you get when uncrucified leadership uses the churches to serve themselves and makes up doctrines to advance their own interests instead of God’s. Which is exactly what you must expect uncrucified men to do. They can do nothing else. They aren’t capable of serving God. They’re only able to serve themselves. They’ll do things deceitfully and with guile to make it appear like they’re men of God when in fact they aren’t. For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it’s no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness. (2Cor11:14,15)

When He’d called the multitude to Himself, He said, “Hear and understand: Not what goes into the mouth defiles a man; but what comes out, this defiles a man.” (Mt15:10,11) Jesus says this because He was provoked by the Pharisees who asked, “Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they don’t wash their hands when they eat.” (Mt15:2) They were accusing Jesus’ disciples of being sinners but Jesus turned their accusations back on them saying, “It’s not My disciples but you who are sinning! You make the Word of God of no effect by your traditions. (Mk7:13) It doesn’t matter what you eat. It’s not what goes into you but what comes out of you that defiles you!” (vs18-23)

Then His disciples said to Him, “Do You know the Pharisees were offended when they heard this?” (Mt15:12) Do you know Jesus doesn’t care they were offended? He isn’t trying to make friends with the Baptists, the Catholics, or the other corban churches. He’s exposing them! Jesus’ disciples seemed shocked that He was rebuking the Pharisees. “These are our religious leaders! Jesus, You’re offending the big shots!” Jesus answered, “Every plant which My heavenly Father hasn’t planted will be uprooted.” (Mt15:13) “Baptists aren’t of God; if they were they wouldn’t be teaching corban. Pharisees aren’t of God, if they were of God they’d be teaching God’s Word instead of traditions of men that make the Word of God of no effect. (Mk7:13) If they were planted by God they’d be bearing fruit unto God not unto themselves. So they’ll be uprooted when God’s due season comes. Don’t pay attention to them. It doesn’t matter if they’re offended by us. We’re planted by God and God will watch over what He plants. Those who aren’t planted by God can’t pluck up what God has planted. But those who haven’t been planted by God will soon be plucked up by God. They’re blind leaders of the blind. Leave them alone. They’re both headed for the ditch!” (Mt15:14) That’s what Jesus says of those who teach corban, who follow doctrines that make the Word of God of no effect; their worship is vain – useless. It won’t save! (Mt15:9) One of the most common and deadly of the “corban” doctrines is the presumption of believing you can’t lose your salvation. This “Baptist” heresy causes people to think they’ve already won a race which the bible says they must continue diligently to run if they’re to be saved. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you’ll never stumble. (2Pt1:10)

We’re required to run our race with patience; (Heb12:1) to pursue faith and righteousness and to lay hold on eternal life. (1Tim6:11,12) But because of this Baptist corban, the faith of many is overthrown. (2Tim2:18) By teaching salvation can’t be lost they say the “race” is over when it’s barely started and destroy every motivation God’s Word gives for holiness, for walking in the Spirit, for pursuing the deep things of God. They wickedly claim all these virtues aren’t needed because if you can’t lose your salvation you already have everything necessary to enter God’s Kingdom. By such lies they deceive the simple and cause people to lose their salvation by overthrowing the believer’s faith to go on to perfection. (Heb6:1) They aren’t brethren. God will soon pluck them up because He didn’t plant them. They’re lost not saved! They can’t give salvation to others when they don’t have it themselves. And these are very much like the Pharisees Jesus had to deal with. In fact, the corban today is worse. The corban in Jesus’ day left mom and dad in poverty. The corban today sends people to hell!

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and there be no divisions among you, but you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (1Cor1:10) This is a command from an apostle, from the Holy Spirit and from God. You’re commanded to speak the same thing. You’re commanded to have no divisions among you. You’re commanded to be perfectly joined together in the same mind and the same judgment. Therefore if there’s any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit. (Phil 2:1-3) Nevertheless, to the degree that we’ve already attained, let’s walk by the same rule, let’s be of the same mind. (Phil 3:16) I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord. (Phil 4:2) I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. (Eph4:1,3)

We’re commanded by God to be of one accord in the churches but this doesn’t mean we’re to be in “blind” agreement with everything or everyone who claims to be of Christ, since that would be impossible. The diverse factions of so-called “christians” today aren’t even in agreement with each other! How can we agree with people who are themselves in disagreement on so many issues? Thus our agreement must first of all be with Christ. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, (Phil 2:5) Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you. (3:15) The agreement God requires begins with Truth. That we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, but, speaking the Truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the Head—Christ! (Eph4:14,15) In other words keep unity with the Truth and don’t be tricked by men who speak deceits

Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern. For many walk, of whom I’ve told you often, and now tell you even weeping, they’re enemies of the cross of Christ: whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame--who set their mind on earthly things. For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. (Phil 3:17-20) Keep unity and be of the same mind with those who are really of Christ and don’t follow men who serve their bellies or set their minds on earthly things. Paul says to the saints, “I’m pleading with you to be of the same mind and speak the same thing. There should be no divisions among you.” (1Cor1:10)

But I’ll come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I’ll know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. For the Kingdom of God isn’t in word but in power. What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness? (1Cor4:19-21) When Paul says, “The Kingdom of God is not in word but in power,” most people think he’s talking of signs, wonders, miracles, and healings. But he’s also talking about authoritative power; Sapphira and Ananias power. He’s saying, “I’m hearing about disobedience and sins among you! Now how do you want me to come? Do you want me to come with the rod because I’ll come with that kind of authority if I have to? I’ll come with power to discipline, to chasten, to deal with the sin in the church, to turn the sinner over to satan for the destruction of his flesh.” (1Cor5:5;1Tim1:20) God has granted the authorities in His church the power to cleanse His church from sin and keep it clean. Paul is saying, “If I have to come in that kind of power you won’t like it but if necessary I can come in that kind of Kingdom power.” But I beg you that when I am present I may not be bold with that confidence by which I intend to be bold against some, who think of us as if we walked according to the flesh. For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. (2Cor10:2-5)

Shall I come to you with a rod, or in love? (1Cor4:21) Will you deal with this problem or do I have to? And It’s actually reported that there’s (sin) among you. And you’re puffed up, and haven’t rather mourned, that he who’s done this deed might be taken away from among you. (1Cor5:1,2) He’s already said, “Now some are puffed up, as though I weren’t coming to you.” (1Cor4:18) So he’s still on the same subject when he says, “There’s sin in your church and you’re puffed up instead of mourning!” (1Cor5:2) What makes such people “puffed up?” Are they thinking, “We’re saved. We’re good people. God loves us so who cares about a little sin in the church?” That’s puffed up! Remember Achan the troubler of Israel? Didn’t Achan the son of Zerah commit a trespass in the accursed thing, and wrath fell on all the congregation of Israel? And that man didn’t perish alone in his iniquity. (Jsh22:20) Are you puffed up? Do you think you can let sin go unpunished in your church and God won’t judge the whole church for it?

For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who’s so done this deed. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you’re gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ, (For the Kingdom of God isn’t in word but in power. – 1Cor4:20) deliver such a one to satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. (1Cor5:3-5) How similar is, For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep. For if we’d judge ourselves, we’d not be judged. (1Cor11:29-31) Because the Corinthians wouldn’t judge themselves God is judging and many are sick or even dying. Often so-called “christians” today have taken Jesus’ command “Judge Not!” to the place they allow sinners to blatantly corrupt their churches. But that’s not how God interprets “Judge Not.” For what have I to do with judging those who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore put away from yourselves the evil person. (1Cor5:12,13) You aren’t to keep company with a sinner in the church. (vs11) You aren’t to let him corrupt your congregation, lest God judge the whole church! Who’s obeying this today? If most aren’t obeying it why aren’t they? Corban! Because they’ve changed the doctrines of God to suit themselves, making God’s Word of no effect. Paul says as an apostle of Christ he has the power to deal with sin in the church. As apostles of Christ today we too are appointed to cleanse Christ’s church and we have the authority to do it. (2Cor10:8) What Paul’s saying is if you won’t cleanse it, I will. I’m coming to you in Kingdom power and I’ll clean up the church. And that power will kill the sinner if he doesn’t repent. I can turn him over to satan who causes death and satan will destroy this man’s flesh because of his sin. Kingdom power includes the power to turn sinners over to death!

Jesus will have a clean and holy church. (Eph5:27) And He’s delegated His power to those He’s appointed to bring that about. (Mt28:18-20) He’s commanded that His disciples are to be of the same mind, so He’s going to bring that about; before Jesus comes His church will be of one mind. The same Jesus who took a whip to the money changers in the temple (Jn2:15) will cleanse the corban out of His church! And it’s high time the “churches” begin to judge themselves lest they be judged. Although the bible commands us to be of the same mind with the true brethren that by no means requires us to unify with people who are preaching corban. In fact we’re forbidden to associate with them. (Tit3:10) The better doesn’t repent unto the lesser. The lesser has to repent and attain to the better. We’re commanded to have unity with the true brethren and to keep the unity of the Spirit with them in the bond of peace (Eph4:3) but we can’t unite with deceptions, heresies, or anything that’s undermining the purposes of God’s Word. So every “church” that wants to have unity with the true brethren must obey what the Word says and repent of anything that doesn’t agree with God. The only way to be found acceptable in the beloved is to get rid of what doesn’t agree with God. Get into unity with those who agree with God and separate from those who don’t. The only way we can be of the same mind in Christ is to be of the right mind. There’s no possible way for us to fulfill the command to be of the same mind except we all have Christ’s mind. (1Cor2:16;Phil 2:5)

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. (1Cor1:10) That same mind is the mind of Christ and it’s the way of God and it’s based on an accurate Spiritual interpretation of God’s Word. If there’s anything in you or your church that disagrees with God’s Word then you can’t be of the same mind with the true brethren and you must repent of your errors. If you’re wrong you must repent to get in unity with those who are right. And that means you must carefully inspect your doctrines. You must prayerfully examine what you’re teaching, preaching and believing and make sure it’s right according to the whole of the scriptures. Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away. (Mt24:35) The Scripture can’t be broken. (Jn10:35b) You don’t preach things just because it’s your tradition. You don’t hold on to things just because your fathers held on to them. You must make sure what you’re preaching is Truth! If Jesus is showing and confirming His Truth to you He’ll also be confirming the same things to all the other true believers, else He’d be undermining the very unity that He demands. You can only be fit to fellowship in unity with the true believers when you’re really of the same mind and can speak the same things with them.

There’s a lie believed by many today that says God made different churches so everyone could have “christianity” their own way, that God wants people to feel comfortable in a “church” that suits their personal preferences. But there’s one God, one faith, one baptism and all these different churches with such different things going on can’t be one. (Eph4:5,6) There may be room for churches to differ on the order of the service but there’s no room for them to differ on doctrines. Doctrine must be sound and it must be from God. For this reason I’ve sent Timothy to you, who’s my beloved and faithful son in the Lord, who’ll remind you of my ways in Christ, as I teach everywhere in every church. (1Cor4:17) Charge some that they teach no other doctrine. (1Tim1:3) In Paul’s day all the gentile churches had the same doctrine. Also when he went to Jerusalem he compared his doctrine to that of the other apostles and found no differences. (Gal 2:1-10) That means what Paul was teaching was the same as what Peter, James and John were teaching. All the churches, Jew or Gentile, had the same gospel, the same doctrine, the same ways in Christ and that’s the way it will be when Jesus comes again. So either you’re going to get into Jesus’ true church and you’re going to have the same mind as the true saints who know the Spirit and are following Christ or you’ll be cut off because your religion is corban and it’s vain and it won’t save you. Because you don’t have a right to pervert God’s Word or God’s church to serve your own selfish preferences.

There’s only one church God recognizes in the earth and it isn’t the Baptist church and it isn’t the Catholic church. It’s Jesus’ church. And Jesus’ church isn’t scattered among the other “churches.” The true church is following Jesus as a corporate body, worshipping together in unity! Because there’s no other way in Christ to be a church except as a corporate body. You can’t have a corporate body following Jesus when half of the people in it are following flesh. So any church that’s allowing its members to follow the flesh isn’t His church. Jesus isn’t Head over such a “church” but presumption is their head. Lies, deceptions, carnality, corban and the world are head over such “churches.” If you want to be in Jesus’ church you’d better find a church that’s following Him. That’s the Truth in the name of Jesus because we’re commanded to be in unity – commanded to have one mind – commanded to speak the same thing – and there’s only one way in Christ to do that which is to get it right according to God’s Word! And that means letting go of whatever isn’t of God. Put away what’s not according to scripture. Repent and turn to God and He’ll show you what’s true. (Jn7:17)

When you turn to the Lord the veil is removed. (2Cor3:16) Those who truly turn to God and away from man-pleasing “corban” religion are going to see what the Truth really is. Then they’re going to come out and be separate (2Cor6:17,18) and God is going to bring them together. Because God’s going to have a church that’s led by Jesus, led by His Spirit; a church that does His will on the earth, speaks the same thing, has one mind, one voice, one Spirit, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, one Lord Jesus Christ. (Eph4:4-6) That true church is rising up even now! And we’re going to be part of it so help me God, in the name of Jesus, and to the glory of God. Come quickly Lord Jesus! Amen!

 Predestination and Calvinism!

Predestination began with St. Augustine’s heretical ideas concerning the absolute “sovereignty” of God – God is of course sovereign but has voluntarily limited His sovereignty to allow for free will in men. Early in the reformation John Calvin after studying Augustine decided God predestines every man to either be “saved” or damned and there’s nothing we as individuals can do to change that. So today Calvinist predestination is a heresy denying free will and free choice in men! If predestination were true in the ways such false churches believe it, it would mean God is responsible for man’s every choice, which is blasphemy making God the author of sin. Also if there’s no free choice in man then there’s no reason for punishing bad choices since punishment is intended to influence a man who’s doing wrong to change his freewill behavior to do right. But if man isn’t responsible for his choices it’s ridiculous for God to punish him for doing what God Himself made him do. Predestination is a very demonic doctrine as everything in the scriptures including the words of Jesus, the prophets, and the apostles indicates every man is personally responsible for making his own choices and will be rewarded or punished according to those choices. And do you think this, O man, you who judge those practicing such things and doing the same, that you’ll escape the judgment of God? Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? But in accordance with your hardness and your impenitent heart you’re treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, “who’ll render to each one according to his deeds:” eternal life to those who by patient continuance in doing good seek for glory, honor, and immortality; but to those who are self-seeking and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness -- indignation and wrath, tribulation and anguish, on every soul of man who does evil, of the Jew first and also of the Greek; but glory, honor, and peace to everyone who works what is good, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For there’s no partiality with God. (Rom2:3-11) In more recent times the Baptist “churches” have further perverted this predestination heresy into “Once Saved/Always Saved.” They think if every saint is predestined to be conformed to Christ (Rom8:29) then after one is saved nothing we can do could prevent what God has predestined from taking place, therefore the believer’s behavior has no effect on whether he keeps or loses his salvation – it can’t be lost. Many scriptures, however, strongly disagree with this heretical interpretation of predestination. And in spite of “predestination” salvation can be lost. Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Don’t be haughty, but fear. For if God didn’t spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either. Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. (Rom11:20-22) There are literally hundreds of scriptures that show salvation must be maintained by proper behavior and diligence. For it’s impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good Word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame. (Heb6:4-6) But we aren’t of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul. (10:39) (See our Glory of His Grace book “What the Bible Says About Once Saved/Always Saved”) When the bible uses the term “predestination” it means God has purposed or intended a particular end, but it doesn’t mean you can’t interfere with His purpose, as in resisting it by your own free will. Concerning your salvation, God has purposed and made every provision to give you salvation but you must receive it, else what God has “predestined” won’t benefit you personally. “Once Saved/Always Saved” is a very demonic doctrine and you should have nothing to do with people who support such a lie, except to rebuke them and speak the Truth to such as may receive it.

7th Day Adventists and Sabbath Worship!

The 7th day Adventists are a cult founded by W. Miller and Ellen White. Miller falsely prophesied Jesus would return to earth in 1843 prompting thousands of his followers to sell their belongings and climb hills to wait for Him. Such foolishness shows their scriptural ignorance. But of that day and hour no man knows not even the angels. (Mt24:36) Ellen White became a false prophetess who covered Miller’s mistakes by saying Jesus did come but invisibly! She quickly became the chief leader of the Adventist movement and author of most of their peculiar doctrines, in contradiction to, I don’t permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man. (1Tim2:12) Today the Adventists are best known for their adherence to “Saturday” Sabbath worship, and vegetarianism in contradiction to, Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. (1Tim4:1-3)

The Sabbath law was given to the Jews, not to the gentile believers. Even in the Jerusalem council (Act15) it wasn’t a requirement for the gentiles to keep the Sabbath. (vs28,29) Paul teaches we’ve fallen from grace if we attempt to be justified by the law. If you keep one point of the law, like Sabbath keeping, then you must keep all the law and if you’re returning to the law for justification then Christ died in vain and you’re separated from Christ. (Gal 5:3,4)

In the beginning the true church chose Sunday, the day of the Lord’s Resurrection as their preferred primary day of worship. This distinguished them from the Jews, but even this wasn’t a legal requirement. (See Col 2:16 and Rom14:5,6) In Christ Jesus it’s not the day you worship that matters, but a new creation! (Gal 6:15) Everyday spiritually is the Sabbath to a true believer. For we who’ve believed do enter that rest. (Heb4:3a) Now may Christ grant you grace to escape the devil’s heresies that you may abide in His Truth. Little children, keep yourselves from idols (false gods and their false doctrines.) (1Jn5:21) Amen!
